Bär Cargolift is focusing AI – for even better service
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the world of work – and at BÄR, too, we are actively exploring the possibilities offered by this technology. Since the end of March 2026, an AI-powered telephone agent called BC.AI (short for Bär Cargolift Artificial Intelligence) has been in operation – initially in German – since May 2026 also in English.
What BC.AI can already do
BC.AI has been extensively trained to handle the most common service enquiries. It provides quick answers, even when our colleagues are unavailable. This was precisely the gap in our service: anyone needing urgent help at night or during peak times found it difficult or impossible to reach BÄR. This gap has now been closed.
How BC.AI is currently being used
At present, BC.AI handles all calls to the service hotline between 4.00 pm and 9.00 am. In this way, BÄR meets a genuine need for service outside of business hours. Furthermore, calls in the late afternoon and early morning are specifically used to check the quality of responses and to continuously develop BC.AI.
During regular business hours: If, in exceptional cases, BC.AI answers the phone or you prefer to speak to a colleague – no problem. BC.AI will transfer you to a human contact person on request or as required.
Where BÄR wants to go with BC.AI
The aim is to gradually roll out BC.AI during peak times as well – so that you can always reach BÄR. In the long term, BC.AI is set to take over first-level support, allowing Bär service technicians to focus fully on the more challenging cases. This will benefit you directly: shorter waiting times and more expert advice on complex issues.
