FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

The first step is simple and requires no tools: switch the cabin switch off and on again. If the malfunction persists after this reset, the driver should contact a service partner and - if the lift beeps - describe the beep signal they heard, since the beep pattern helps the technician diagnose the issue faster. Building this two-step check into driver protocols can prevent unnecessary breakdown calls and keep fleets on schedule with Bar Cargolift tail lifts.

If the standard controls no longer respond, activate the emergency operating mode using the buttons on the control unit. This mode allows you to move the platform into the transport position using only the basic functions before driving to a workshop. The exception is the Bar VanLift. This emergency procedure is designed specifically for Bar Cargolift tail lifts.

You can access the correct manual via the QR code on the control unit or by entering the serial number on the HowToCargoLift platform. This ensures users receive information specific to their model. This digital service assists owners of Bar Cargolift tail lifts with operation and troubleshooting. Alternatively, the operating manual is located in the cab and can also be downloaded from the website.

To do this, open the support tube or the power unit compartment below the control unit where you will find the electronic control. Press and hold the O and C buttons (for at least 5 seconds until the beep stops) here to activate emergency mode, in which only basic functions are available. Once the driving position is reached, deactivate emergency mode by pressing O and C again (for at least 1 second) and close the support tube. This emergency operation is standard on all Bar Cargolift tail lifts and allows drivers to quickly continue their journey in the event of a service issue in order to drive to the next workshop.

In emergency mode, only the most essential basic functions can be used to safely move the tailgate into the driving position. Advanced functions remain disabled. This safety feature ensures that Bar Cargolift tailgates can still be moved in a controlled manner even in the event of a malfunction.
