Cybercriminals have attacked Gerd Bär GmbH -
customer service and spare parts sales continue (as of December 1st, 2025)
Since Friday, 28 November 2025, Gerd Bär GmbH has also been affected by the ongoing wave of attacks on industrial and medium-sized companies. A group of perpetrators has succeeded in undermining the technical and organisational measures designed to protect the IT environment and encrypting parts of it. The group of perpetrators, which has claimed responsibility for the attack, is associated with professional, organised cybercrime.
Gerd Bär GmbH took immediate measures to contain the incident as soon as the attack became known. Service providers specialising in IT forensics and IT security are currently investigating the IT environment to secure traces of the cyberattack and reconstruct the attackers' path into the systems.
As IT system failures must always be expected at any time and regardless of the cause, Gerd Bär GmbH has prepared appropriate emergency plans to minimise the impact on customers, suppliers and partners:
- Communication via telephone and email is not affected, and central email accounts remain accessible.
- Spare parts can be ordered and delivered by email and telephone.
- The Webshop is back online. Here you can order spare parts with limited functionality.
- Production is expected to resume in the course of the week.
Investigations are currently underway to determine what and how much data the cybercriminals stole from the IT systems. Gerd Bär GmbH is consulting with an external specialist in data protection and IT forensics in order to coordinate appropriate measures to inform affected individuals or customers.
