Stable = heavy – not with Bär! Because Bär Cargolift has been using aluminium platforms since the company’s foundation - developed in-house and also produced in-house at the Heilbronn site since 2004. The platform development concentrates here on:
- The optimum relationship between stability and net weight
- Practical orientation towards load capacity and application
As result of continuous further development, in 2014 Bär Cargolift presents the new BAplan45 platform system. The change from 40 mm aluminium profiles to 45 mm profiles results in:
- Lower weight
BAplan45VL is around 18% lighter than its predecessor. The tried and tested solid tip profiles are retained. - Improved design
Aluminium extruded profile in place of the metal box, as well as wider aluminium profiles for larger advertising space and higher perceived quality. - Equipment in line with requirements
As a solid alternative to the established RamGuard, SteelTop out of stainless steel protects the platform corners during ramp use.

In the next step, the RetFalt platforms also change over to 45 mm profiles. The modular platform concept enables optimum fitment capability and performance.
But why aluminium? Because aluminium does not rust. Regardless whether they are painted, anodised or bare - aluminium platforms maintain a high quality appearance for the long-term. Furthermore, aluminium brings a weight advantage of 100 kg to 200 kg in comparison to steel. For the user this means a higher payload and therefore more loading capacity as well as lower fuel consumption. The non-slip TracGrip surface (standard) or alternative optional platform coatings guarantee the maximum in safe footing.
